Ah, blogging. Here's my little corner of it all -- in West Chester, and well, from wherever on whatever. I'll let you know what I'm thinking and you can let me know what you're thinking. But remember, I can delete your posts.

The Note

The paper's been covering the struggle that's been going on to get the new venue open. And I've been waiting impatiently. To be able to catch bands without driving into Philly is something I'm all for.

On Saturday I got a sneak peek. And the place is nice -- very nice. I've been in a lot of venues and the size and feel to The Note could be one of my favorites. A lot of work has gone into it and a lot of thought as well. With the design the acoustics could be great too.

I don't mind paying a cover charge or a ticket price. Some chose to go to the movies, I always chose to go see bands. The ticket price for a venue and the ticket price for movies were usually about the same and if I can see 3 or 4 bands and hear what someone has created, the value to that will always outweigh a movie. To me it's more intimate and more entertaining.

So the sooner The Note opens, the better as far as I'm concerned. People think the music business is dying. And in some regards their probably right. The next phase in my opinion is going to be about the live show, as many, many more have reported. As venues across the country are closing I'm always excited to see another open. It's why I started booking shows in Oxford.

When the first band takes the stage the first night...I'll be there. Long live live music.
