Ah, blogging. Here's my little corner of it all -- in West Chester, and well, from wherever on whatever. I'll let you know what I'm thinking and you can let me know what you're thinking. But remember, I can delete your posts.

Cheers Elephant & Tomatoes

On Saturday night I was supposed to go see Cheers Elephant. Unfortunately, I couldn't make it. I work Saturday's for the paper and there was a murder south of Oxford. I didn't wrap that up until late and well, news happens. I'm keeping an eye on their myspace page with show dates. To anyone else that made it, hope it was good.

Moving on, to the tomatoes. I turned 25 six months ago and someone told me that I'd notice that I would start to eat more foods, be less picky. I thought they were full of something ...

Turns out that person was right. I noticed that I began enjoying more foods. I always liked to cook, but there were foods I would avoid -- mainly tomatoes. But on Monday evening I was grilling in my backyard with my neighbors who happened to bring over a salad. I wanted to be polite, even though it was my house, and eat what they brought. To my surprise, I actually liked the little red fruits.

So, Cheers Elephant & Tomatoes.

It's great to see so many people responding to Cheers Elephant. Now I'm really irritated that I couldn't make the show. I'm hoping for the next one.

Enough about the elephant. Cheers to them, yes. I would like to express my deep love for tomatoes. They are fantastic. If you're constantly exposed to crappy, flavorless, gritty tomatoes, of course you're going to hate them. Try heirloom tomatoes. They are grown from seeds that are over 50 years old. You'll never want any other tomato. Be warned, it's tough being a tomato snob.
Love,
Vanessa
